Today we celebrate the 103rd birthday of Frida Kahlo, our giant search engine Google kicked off the off her online birthday party with one of its specialty logos, and a special Google Doodle in memory of Frida Kahlo.Most of the painters work depicts Frida Kahlo amid a fantastical setting. Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907 in the house of her parents, known as La Casa Azul in Coyoacan. At the time, it was a small town on the outskirts of Mexico City.As a young artist, Frida Kahlo approached the Mexican painter, Diego Rivera, whose work she admired, asking him for advice about pursuing art as a career. He recognized her talent and her unique expression as truly special and uniquely Mexican, he encouraged her artistic development and began an intimate relationship with Frida. They were married in 1929, despite the disapproval of Frida mother.

Learning The Lingo Of 4G Technology

The world of computer technology moves so fast that for people who don’t have a degree in computer sciences it can be difficult to keep up. You might hear about some of the new computer and Internet technology out there, but can you really say that you understand what it is or how it works? Well, there is one new development in the Internet world that you do want to stay informed about, and that is the 4G network. This article will help to explain the 4G network and some of the terminology that comes along with it in simple terms that everyone can understand.

What is 4G?

4G literally stands for fourth generation. You have probably heard a lot about the 3G network from commercials about iPhones and Blackberries. 3G is the predecessor of the 4G network. If you have one of these 3G devices, or you know someone who has one, you know that you can log into the Internet almost anywhere that you receive a wireless signal. The great thing about the 4G network is that it is designed to also be used with regular computers. This means that if you have a 4G mobile modem, you can log into the Internet on a 4G network from almost anywhere. It is also up to four times faster than the 3G network. With a regular computer and the extra speed of 4G, you can do all of the things that you weren’t able to do with 3G, like download large files, watch videos, or download music.

Mobile Broadband

Mobile broadband is the general term for the different kinds of wireless high-speed Internet that transmit signals through some type of portable device. This could be a portable modem, a telephone, or some other type of piece of equipment.

WiMAX

This is a term that you will hear used when it comes to the 4G network. WiMAX is technology that allows you to transmit data wireless. It was developed as another alternative to cable and DSL Internet and is a mobile wireless Internet.

Mobile Air Card

This is an important one. An air card is the device that you use to connect to the Internet. You might be more familiar with the term “modem.” This air card, or portable modem, is what you use to connect to the Internet with your laptop. You plug the device into the USB port on your laptop. Mobile air cards are very small, not like the traditional modem that you are probably imagining. The size is similar to a small USB memory stick. It’s smaller than a pack of Big Red chewing gum. This makes it very convenient to bring with you.

The applications for the iPhone fall in a number of categories. Since there are so many of them they need to be organized to be able to search them effectively. They vary in price and functionality but the following are the best productivity applications that all iPhone users should at least try out sometime while owning an iPhone.

The first is the free application of EverNote. It is a small little application that allows people to collect and keep small notes in one location for easy access. It is more than just a normal post it note like application since notes can be compiled in a few different formats. Text notes can be added along with quick pictures which may need to be recalled at a whim. Voice notes are also available to be recorded and one factor that is even cooler is that the application has the function built in to search for text through pictures by character recognition. This makes it useful if needing to read signs or anything else in a photo. It’s definitely something all users should get especially since it is free.

Another useful application, although not free, is Pocket Informant. It is an application that combines the functions of a to-do list and a calendar into one convenient place. This allows users to keep their appointments and dates in order. It also supports synchronizing so that the application can upload the data to Google Calendar in order to keep the computer and iPhone synchronized together. You should never miss an appointment this way.

iTranslate is an application that not all people need but it may come in handy at times when you may not even expect to need to know a foreign language. There is no harm in trying it out though because it is completely free. It links up directly to Google to translate any text that you need immediately. There are translations for the common languages such as French and Spanish and even some of the more rare occurrences such as Latvian. No automated translators are perfect but it is better than nothing when you really are in a pinch to know a translation.

Individuals who are fans of lists will want to try out the free application of WhatTasksLite. This quick and simple to-do application allows your to-do list to be split into categories to keep your life organized. Some groups users may wish to split include work, personal, or even school. Priority levels can also be noted. Sometimes simplicity is the way to ensure that the application actually gets used instead of sitting dormant on your iPhone.

Google Voice isn’t an application but is something that should definitely be used by all iPhone owners. It is also completely free. This really helps for calls because international calls can be conducted at low rates and unlimited text messages are able to be sent. All voicemails can be browsed through Google Voice as well. It is possible to use Google Voice just like you would any other application.

The camera of the phone has also seen an upgrade, iPhone 4G now features a 5 mega pixel camera, which, with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels will allow users to take pictures with crystal clear clarity. It will also have features like autofocus, LED flash, touch focus and Geo-tagging. Apple has also foregone the traditional Sim Card and opted to have a microSIM. With the reduction of the SIM card, the phone now has more space, which has been optimally utilized by increasing the battery size. The battery now has a talk time of Up to 14 h (2G) / Up to 7 h (3G) and can stay on standby for Up to 300 hrs on both 2G and 3G networks

Cisco offers its own tablet

Cisco has announced a seven-inch equipped with the Android operating system. His name is basically aimed Ciusa and business customer. The presentation in Las Vegas, the company’s chief executive, John Chambers, said its use in video conferencing system with its high-definition video. It has front camera (for video conferencing) and back (for photos or videos) and weighs half a kilo. Google stop automatically redirect traffic from China to Hong Kong

The fight between the Chinese government and Google continues. The internet giant has announced that it stops automatically redirect traffic from China to Hong Kong. In this way Google will cease to censor its search services in China.
The dispute began in January this year when Google refused to censor its results in Google.cn after accusing China of orchestrating a cyber attack on their servers. Under threat of losing its license to offer content, Google finally decided to redirect users to your page in Hong Kong, a trait which has so far gone unpunished to the Chinese government.
The license for Google to provide Internet content services in China is subject to renewal, and government authorities have made clear that the automatic redirection to Google in Hong Kong is no longer acceptable . What is the Google solution? Rather than redirect users directly to Google.com.hk Google.cn, Chinese page simply bind to its namesake in Hong Kong, allowing users to search without censorship.

The sole purpose of Google.cn is now linking to Google Hong Kong, which does not very much from simply redirect it. Although this technically is consistent with Chinese law by not automatically redirect users to Google in Hong Kong, government officials considered likely that fulfills the same purpose. Should have more news soon, as Google’s license must be renewed on 30 June, but it seems that for the first time, the ball is on the roof of the Chinese government.

iPhone 4 Reviews shows up

Considering that all major networks here in the UK are carrying the iPhone 4 and it's also being sold unlocked at the Apple Store, I'm sure that the lines won't be as long as it is in the US but if you're still in the fence about getting this latest mobile phone from Apple until early reviews shows up, well, start contemplating because Engadget has released their review of the iPhone 4.

Well, as expected, it's all praises for the Jesus phone, they even went as far as saying as its the best smartphone in the market today. Although I'm not usually an iPhone fan, seeing the iPhone 4 features, I actually have to agree with them. In the past, I've hesitant about jumping into the iPhone bandwagon because mainly of the hardware. However, with improved features such as multitasking, thousand of apps, 5 megapixel camera, and 720p video recording, among others, the iPhone 4 has definitely improved in terms of hardware.

The only question now is who will release the iPhone killer? Or with the iPhone 4 features, would it be possible to have an iPhone killer nowadays? I guess we'll have to wait for the Windows Phone 7 to see if the iPhone 4 will stay at the top of the smartphone market.

Well, it's official, the iPhone 4 is the fastest selling mobile phone in history, selling around 1.7 million iPhone 4s from June 24th to June 26th. But if you're wondering how Apple was able to sell 1.7 million iPhone 4 when it's hard to find one in stock anywhere in the UK, well, that's makes two of us.

The Apple store UK has 3 weeks waiting time for the iPhone 4, O2 doesn't have any stock and won't arrive until around the 2nd week of July and they're only selling to existing O2 customers. Carphone Warehouse on the other hand won't mention over the phone if they have the iPhone 4 in stock, you have to go to their brick and mortar store to see if they do have one and you can't even call to confirm if there's stock or reserve one.

So where the heck do we get an iPhone 4 which is actually in stock? Well, if you're truly desperate, you can try eBay but you have to pay around 700-900 for a 16GB version, that's for either unlocked or locked units. But if you're not that desperate and 700 quid is too much for you, well, 3 weeks waiting time isn't so bad now, is it?
